Once upon a time, a girl who looks very much like me but with a face that was seven years younger and less hair on one side of her head, dreamed up a Cloudiverse, crowded with characters and packed with places that were just as whimsical as she was.

Now she's older, she's decided it's about time she made a return to the whimsical world inside her head.

Welcome to Cloud Bay, number one holiday destination for the travelling Cloudiversian, relax among the billowing clouds in one of our pastel beach shanties and watch the stars float by. Why not pick up a rod and try out a spot of starfishing? Or perhaps, starcatching is more your style? Whatever you decide, we're sure your stay will be magical.

When we decided to go to the beach, I knew I had to shoot some self-portraits there. I live in one of the most landlocked parts of the country so the beach isn't a location I can use all the time. Naturally, I had to steal an hour or so at the beginning of the day to get some pictures. The night before was spent running around Hobbycraft for supplies and then creating lots and lots of origami lucky stars (a few of which we left behind at the beach for people to find), and trying to stop the cat from eating them.

By some wonderful twist of fate, the colours of the stars matched the beach huts perfectly. I definitely have to thank the universe for that one.
