Have you ever scrambled across the tiniest, cutest, most deliciously styled house ever to collect every single plant in the building just for the shot? We have.
The final shoot from our day of creativity (you know the one by now) was an exercise in gathering: gathering cacti; gathering leafy greens; gathering cute little pots all filled with living things; gathering Belinda, a bedraggled little cactus that I accidentally managed to launch across the set (RIP Belinda, you were small but mighty) and am still unsure quite how it happened. (It was comically followed by a little noooo when I realised that the strange little thing on the floor was, in fact, a little cactus.) I was entrusted with the gathering (good job, Elou), while Sparrow did the arranging and Wren sat in place so Sparrow didn't get a little too enthusiastic with her placements and forget to leave room for herself.
Sparrow is a plant mother, she collects them and cares for them and makes them feel pretty and fed and very well looked after indeed. (Even if her friends end up throwing them halfway across a room.) This little shoot was conceived entirely by her, I was merely the instrument that captured it, aided greatly by the glorious natural light streaming through the windows. There could not be a more perfect corner for this set.
These photos make me want plant children of my very own.
